About Us
FAIRWINDZ.org is a non profit group which offers help, support, encouragement and education
to non-custodial parents in an atmosphere of fun and consistent social unity.
The group provides sensible guidance, a support outlet and an informative, consistent social structure which helps kids and parents in what may be the most damaging battle of their lives... the divorce and custody battle. With an estimated 25 million non-custodial parents in the United States this group is growing every day and now is the time to help these parents and kids learn to make the best of a horrible situation.
We make each others parenting time as positive and memorable as possible in whatever time and with whatever resources are available. We actively work together to be more than visitors in our children's lives and work to even out the inequity and create as many incredible memories with them as possible in the time we do have together.
Parents meet mid-week to plan activities, get help with current cases, to vent, relieve the stresses of not being with our children, hear visiting speakers who can help us with our daily struggles such as bankers, child nutritionists and psychologists and finally because ... sometimes it's just nice to know you're not alone. We gather every weekend with the children. As a group we plan trips and seasonal activities. Our recently donated boats are available this season and later in the year we'll plan RV trips, ski trips, cookouts, camping trips, pot luck dinners and discount vacation packages.
We help each other with case management and preparation to lessen the overwhelming financial burden. Through affiliated and visiting attorneys, parents are given guidance for their cases and offered representation at a reasonable cost. We are a supportive presence during court proceedings and are currently working on providing a low cost alternative to transcripts through digital recording. We offer visitation supervision through our association with the Children's Rights Council and offer various transportation options for those who are otherwise unable to gain access to their children.
This is the core of our program and we are currently planning teen vocational groups and other community service projects which will further our reach and ability to help our most valuable assett.....our children.
